Overview
We are seeking a skilled Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting and a NICET 2 license. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure the safety and security of our clients' properties. The Alarm Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all alarm systems are functioning properly and meet industry standards.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair various types of alarm systems, including fire alarms and security systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and codes.
- Troubleshoot issues with alarm systems, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements.
- Assist in the design and layout of alarm systems based on client specifications and building requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and installations performed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes (including NEC), and best practices related to low voltage systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Skills
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, wiring, and safety protocols.
- Experience as a service technician with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring and installation practices.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients through excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with system design principles for alarm installations.
- Experience in construction inspection related to alarm system installations is a plus.
- Sales experience in alarm systems is advantageous but not required.
- Must Have Fire Alarm License for State of NE.
- Pull permits as necessary.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
