WHAT'S NEEDED FROM AN ASSISTANT STATE'S ATTORNEY?
We're looking for someone who can work 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday and meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active member of the North Dakota bar and in good standing by your start date
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- High-quality research and writing skills
- Quick analytical ability
- Satisfactory performance in prior employment
- Ability to accurately and precisely articulate critical issues in a case
- Ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff, and the courts
Preferred qualifications:
- Criminal prosecutorial or defense experience
- Civil legal and appellate experience
- Law enforcement or related field experience
- Knowledge of 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments to the US Constitution
- Strong desire to work in a prosecutor's office
