THE BASICS
Pay : Our Surveying and Civil Engineering Tech earns $52,650 - $58,386 / year .
Schedule : Since you work outdoors often, your schedule varies depending on the season. In the summer and fall, you work 4-10s and have 3-day weekends . During the winter and spring, you work Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm .

YOUR IMPACT
In this land survey position, you complete thorough, precise work that greatly contributes to the successful design and construction of various roads, bridges, and drainage systems. You roll up your sleeves, get outdoors, and tackle the necessary duties to ensure a successful project. Using various equipment, you collect precise topographical data and measure elevations, cross-sections, grading, and the location of physical objects. You skillfully use AutoCAD software to draft construction and land survey plans, making sure to meticulously document all your work and research.
You also drive efficient field operations by producing accurate cost estimates, receiving material shipments, and verifying delivery accuracy. Attentively, you conduct quality inspections and test samples for bituminous materials and aggregates. You're motivated to keep the crew safe and the project on track, and you handle administrative duties like payroll to support our success. As needed, you also help your team with additional tasks like preparing highway maps, inspecting roads and bridges, updating infrastructure databases, and responding to public questions.
