YOUR SCHEDULE
In the summer and fall, you work 4-10s and have 3-day weekends . During the winter and spring, you work Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm .
YOUR DAY
As our Surveyor - Engineering Technician, you complete critical services that are pivotal to the successful design and creation of roads, bridges, and drainage systems. You mainly work outdoors, using various equipment to collect accurate topography data. Attentive to detail, you stake grades, verify construction layouts, and measure elevation to ensure the plans work well with the land. Using AutoCAD software, you draft precise designs and thoroughly document your work.
You support efficient field operations by creating accurate cost estimates, receiving material shipments, and verifying the products to ensure correct deliveries. As you receive materials, you thoroughly document the products and test samples to check for bituminous materials and aggregates. You conduct thorough outdoor inspections, ensure project crew safety, and tackle administrative duties like payroll. Additionally, you support your team with other responsibilities like preparing highway maps, inspecting roadways and bridges, updating infrastructure databases, and addressing public inquiries.
