POSITION TITLE: Teacher - Lead Special Education for the 2025-2026 School Year
LOCATION(S): Cass MS
START DATE: July 28, 2025
JOB DESCRIPTION: Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual need of the student. Responsible for conducting eligibility meetings, IEP meetings and other necessary meetings required for special education students. Responsible for compliance of special education paperwork as well as special education data for assigned students. Work with school data manager to insure accurate data for special education students is in the district student information system. Support special education teachers in the implementation of services in the school. Display a thorough knowledge of special education rules and regulations. Maintain prompt and regular attendance. Support the philosophy and mission of the Bartow County School system. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING: Must hold a valid Georgia teaching certificate in Special Education General Curriculum (K-12).
SKILLS: Ability and knowledge to effectively lead the special education program at the school level. Must be familiar with special education laws and policies. Training in special needs of disabled population, including first aid and controlling aggressive behavior. Physical demands – must be able to stand and walk a minimum of six hours; lift, carry and pull up to 150 pounds.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in a special education program preferred.
