Position Summary:
The Construction Estimator/ Sales Associate holds an important role in the success of our company. You will be responsible for educating customers about our products, assisting them with project plans and serving their needs with a positive, friendly perspective.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
-Performing Takeoffs on customer and contractor blueprints.
-Offering support to the sales stall in all aspects of the department
-Creating materials lists and processing orders with our vendors and suppliers.
-Perform status checks on incoming materials, deliveries, and jobsite deliveries.
-Maintain Schedules and timelines for project material Deliveries.
-Review status reports prepared by Outside Sales Staff or Contractor to coordinate schedules and make necessary modifications while keeping all parties informed.
-Fielding customer calls, providing exceptional customer service and relaying necessary information both to the customer and the outside salesperson assigned to the account.
-Ordering special order material for customers.
-All other duties assigned by the Manager/owner.
Requirements
- Prior experience with construction and building materials.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform takeoffs.
- A commitment to service, excellence, and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to take leadership role in training.
- Ability to communicate with associates and customers.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Maintain composure while working on multiple tasks and handling customer complaints.
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of retail computer systems, electronic cash registers, MS Word, and Excel a plus.
Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.
Experience / Skills Required:
This position requires intimate knowledge of building materials and/or construction techniques with a minimum of at least 2 year(s) of relevant experience and/or training.
Physical, Environmental Factors:
Office environment - ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time is a must. A small percentage of time may be spent in our lumber yard or even less frequently on job sites in an outdoor, sometimes harsh environment.
Starting pay based on experience. $65k - $175k with bonus and commission selling incentives.
