In this important role, you will conduct activities with our residents to help keep them informed, entertained, and engaged. We are looking for someone who is skilled at helping get residents out of their rooms for our exciting programs! Our ideal candidate is self-motivated with a genuine concern for our residents’ well-being, and has a creative personality and positive attitude.
This is a Part-Time position working 10 hours a week. The ideal start time would be the second week of March.
Baseline Pay: $16.40 / hour (could be more depending on experience).
Activities Assistant responsibilities:
- Prep and run evening and weekend programs.
- Interact and assist residents on a one to one basis outside of structured program times. Complete the 1 on 1 list and document it.
- Document activity attendance and degree of involvement.
- Update the whiteboard.
- Help maintain the cleanliness of the office and the spaces used for activities.
- Report to the director anything new on the residents.
- Encourage, support, and assist residents with activities.
- Act as a positive representative at all times.
- Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
Activities Assistant skills and requirements:
- Prior experience working in an Assisted Living, Long Term Care, or Memory Care facility preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
- Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
- Good communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.
