Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble and fabricate caster components:
- Using pre-cut materials and parts, you will follow detailed work orders and blueprints to assemble the caster components accurately.
- Each caster is unique, and you’ll have to combine different materials and components like wheels, bearings, brackets, and hardware into a finished product.
Operate hand tools and power tools on the assembly bench:
- You will utilize tools such as screwdrivers, impact wrenches, drills, and sanders to fasten, shape, and refine parts during assembly.
- The assembly bench will be equipped with various specialized tools tailored to specific caster components, and you’ll use these tools to achieve precise assembly.
Work within established time standards:
- You will be expected to complete assembly tasks within a predetermined time frame while maintaining high standards of quality.
- This will require efficiency and multitasking as you move between different stages of assembly, from initial part prep to final inspection.
Inspect components and finished products:
- As you work on the assembly bench, you’ll be responsible for inspecting each component during and after assembly to ensure it meets strict quality control standards.
- You’ll check for defects, fit, and functionality, making sure that each product is free of imperfections before moving on to the next stage.
Ensure a clean and organized workspace:
- Maintaining a well-organized assembly bench is crucial. You’ll need to keep tools, components, and work materials neatly arranged to increase efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.
- Cleanliness ensures a safe work environment and prevents contamination of finished products.
- Maintain proper safety standards:
- Regular checks of tool functionality will be essential to ensure safe operation, especially when using power tools or working with heavy materials.
- Collaborate with the team and supervisors.
- You’ll report to your supervisor to update them on progress, challenges, and potential improvements in assembly processes.
Job Requirements:
To excel as an Assembly and Fabrication Technician at Caster Concepts, we are looking for individuals who have:
Previous assembly or fabrication experience:
- Ideally, you have worked in an environment where you had to assemble or fabricate components using hand tools and power tools.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools:
- You should have experience using screwdrivers, drills, impact wrenches, and other standard assembly tools.
- The assembly bench will be equipped with various tools tailored to specific tasks, and you’ll need to be comfortable using them efficiently.
- Blueprint and diagram interpretation skills:
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and work orders to assemble products accurately is critical.
- You should have a basic understanding of how to interpret assembly instructions and ensure components are aligned and assembled correctly.
Basic mechanical knowledge:
- A solid understanding of how different mechanical components fit together and work will be highly beneficial.
- Knowing how to troubleshoot issues that may arise during assembly will help you contribute to a smoother workflow.
Attention to detail:
