  • Guest Services Manager – Kanaloa at Kona

    We are hiring a Guest Services Manager to oversee front office and reservations, ensuring efficiency and high service standards, reporting to the General Manager.

    Oversee efficient, cost-effective front office, housekeeping, and reservations departments, ensuring high service standards. Manage tasks, schedules, resources, and inventory, greet VIP guests, and report to the General Manager. Assist with budgeting and maintain quality standards.

    Details:
    • Location: Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
    • Education/Experience Required: High school diploma (or related field) and 3 years of hotel management experience required.
    • Salary range: $55,000-$60,000/year
    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
    • Ensuring guest services, front office, and reservations standards are met.
    • Assigning tasks and setting schedules; authorizing leaves of absences.
    • Training new front office employees on hotel policies and procedures, as needed.
    • Supervise staff, monitor performance, and ensure proper documentation of discipline.
    • Reporting items in guest rooms or buildings in need of repair or maintenance.
    • Check daily to see that all employees are properly groomed, uniformed and wearing name tags.
    • Collaborate with employees to identify and solve problems, including holding staff meetings as needed.
    • Controls daily availability (short term) of inventories, opening and closing availability as necessary.
    • Ensure all hiring and termination policies are followed including the proper paperwork filed and sent to accounting.
    • Responsible for the petty cash and change bank for the front desk and assuring monies are accounted for at all times.
    • Submit petty cash for reimbursement, code it to the correct ledger, and reconcile city ledger accounts and daily cash deposits.
    • Submit payroll bi-monthly for all staff including any incentive pay.
    • Late arrivals contact.
    Qualifications:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel programs.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational skills.
    • Reliable; able to multi-task and learn on the job.
    • Basic knowledge of accounting, all aspects of operations, with a strategic thinking and creative approach to problem-solving.
    • Must possess good common sense, reasoning, and judgment ability.
    • Knowledge of all aspects of operations, with a strategic thinking and creative approach to problem-solving.
    Experience
    • At least three (3) years of hotel / condo experience.
