Event and Project Manager Job Description
The selected candidate will be an organized, detail-oriented professional. Working in a small team, he or she must be able to manage deadlines, balance multiple priorities and stay organized while communicating with event contractors, partners, vendors and community leaders. The candidate will provide outstanding customer service and maintain important relationships while assisting with the planning and execution of events and other projects. Attendance at 4-5 events throughout the year is required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
General duties and responsibilities:
· Help with the planning, logistics and execution of Downtown events, which may include:
o Obtaining required permits related to street closure, police and fire permissions, Douglas County Health code, liquor licensing and others as needed.
o Assist in managing event marketing design, printed materials, and social media.
o Assist team in coordinating sponsors, vendors, entertainers, contractors, and volunteers, as well as tracking communications and agreements.
o Work in collaboration with team to secure and expand sponsorship for events.
o Work with event contractors to manage and oversee day of event operations.
o Collaborate on event budgets and manage accordingly.
· Assist with board meeting preparation and collaborate on communications to the board.
· Assist with drafting DMA / DDA mid-year and annual reports.
· Maintain strong relationships with organization partners including Town department heads, Chamber of Commerce, Douglas County and community stakeholders.
· Assist with managing Downtown economic development programs.
· Lift, load and handle supplies up to 30 pounds.
· Event days may require extended time on one’s feet.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· 1-year of professional work experience.
· Event management experience preferred.
· Proficiency with the latest versions of Microsoft Suite, Outlook email functions, and social media platforms.
Hours and Compensation:
· 35 Hour Work Week; Hours 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (flexibility can be approved)
· Monday – Friday
· 401k Retirement Plan
· A health care stipend of $500 / month is provided in place of a specific health insurance provider
· 12 Days PTO annually
· $50,000 - $60,000 annual salary
