Castle Rock Medical Center is looking for a part-time Housekeeper to join the team. This position typically works Monday-Friday 6pm to 10pm (20 hours per week).
Summary of Job:
Maintain the highest standards of quality in the delivery of clean linens to CRMC departments, keeps facilities and equipment clean, orderly, attractive and presentable at all times for patients, staff and visitors. Work cooperatively with all Department Heads and staff to ensure cleanliness is maintained in compliance with applicable cleaning schedule.
Essential Job Functions:
Laundry
- Washes and dries sheets, blankets, linen, towels and other items.
- Sort articles on worktable or in baskets into groups requiring identical treatment.
- Load/unload washing/drying machines and add detergent and/or bleach as required.
- May spot clean articles before washing to remove heavy stains.
- May sterilize items.
- May wash contaminated laundry using isolation techniques.
- Fold, assemble and deliver laundered articles to designated areas.
Housekeeping
- Cleans physicians’ offices, exam rooms, bathrooms, offices, halls and other common areas.
- Wash lights, walls, inside windows, blinds, bathroom fixtures and exam tables.
- May require cleaning from a ladder and moving furniture in order to facilitate proper cleaning techniques.
- Keep utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
- May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies.
- Use vacuum, broom, mop, buffer or burnisher to clean floors.
- May use various cleaning solutions to sanitize spills or accidents.
- May set-up tables and chairs.
- May stock carts and storage rooms with cleaning supplies.
- Empty trash containers.
- Keeps department and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
Physical Demands:
- Stand or walk for 8 hours out of an 8-hour day or for 2 hours without stopping to sit down.
- Bend frequently for activities such as removing clothing from washer/dryer, mopping, moving furniture, cleaning bathroom fixtures or mop boards.
- Squat or kneel for 10 minutes while working.
- Use hands continuously throughout day to reach forward or occasionally to work overhead.
- Use good balance, coordination and depth perception to push laundry cart and climb ladder or scaffold.
- Lift and carry 50 lbs. For a distance of 20’ safely and with proper body mechanics.
- Lift 50 lbs. from floor safely and with proper body mechanics.
- Push/Pull 40 lbs. For a distance of 20’ and 20 lb. Cart for 300’.
- Energy level and fitness to tolerate a working metabolic level for a full day at a medium level of physical demand.
Other Physical Demands:
- This position requires significant color discrimination to sort laundry and spot cleaning carpets.
- Also, significant near vision to read instructions on cleaning agents.
- Moderate far vision to fold laundry, push housekeeping cart and move furniture.
- Moderate depth perception to climb ladders.
- Worker is subject to significant exposure to chemical contact (agents), moving objects, noise, temperature, high elevations, fumes, vibrations, (burnisher and buffer), wetness and slippery floors.
