General Laborer/Loader Operator - Fertilizer Terminal

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious General Laborer/Loader Operator to join our team at our fertilizer terminal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely loading and unloading bulk fertilizer products, performing general labor duties, and assisting with daily terminal operations. This position requires operating heavy machinery, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the terminal, and ensuring all activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment, including loaders, forklifts, and other machinery used for loading and unloading fertilizer products.
• Load and unload bulk fertilizer from trucks and storage facilities following company procedures.
• Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on terminal equipment as needed. Assist in the transfer of fertilizer to and from storage and shipping areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by removing debris and following housekeeping practices.
• Assist with inventory control and record-keeping for products and materials. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Help monitor and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations related to fertilizer handling and storage.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in terminal operations, including loading trucks and bins as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in general labor, material handling, or operating heavy equipment is preferred.
• Valid forklift and loader operator certification (or ability to obtain).Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with fertilizer handling and safety procedures is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and in a physically demanding environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Work Schedule:

Full-time position, with some overtime as needed.

Shifts may vary depending on terminal operations and workload.

Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.
