We are seeking a Business Development / Market Research Manager.
Position Overview:
As our Business Development / Market Research Manager, you will drive the company's growth by identifying market opportunities and developing business strategies. Key functions are to conduct thorough market research, analyze industry trends, and work closely with various internal teams to enhance business performance and achieve company goals.
What You’ll Do
Business Development:
Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company objectives.
Collaborate with sales team to align strategies.
Identify leads that match our organization’s criteria within target markets and support the prospecting process by developing and sharing pitch material, coordinating meetings, and working with the team to convert them into customers
Cold call and schedule appointments with potential clients
Complete follow-ups on inquiries and leads forwarded from the website, and trade show and report back on outcomes
Identify and build relationships with potential business partners and clients.
Identify and pursue new business and high-volume opportunities for our sales team.
Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions
Generate new and repeated sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
Contact customers following a sale to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
Use CRM software (MS Dynamics) to document, manage, track, and report on leads, opportunities, and proposals.
Remain current on client preferences and new product development by attending vendor training, trade shows and reading trade journals
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business development strategies.
Provide guidance and recommendations to management and other teams on market research methodology, data collection, and interpretation.
Prepare and present detailed reports on market insights and business development activities.
Market Research:
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential market opportunities.
Identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand.
Analyze, forecast, track and report on business performance, key market metrics and sales trends.
Research competitor activities, pricing, and marketing strategies.
Develop and implement research studies and gather data through various methods, including surveys, focus groups, interviews, and analyzing existing data sources.
Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Develop comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Stay updated with industry developments and emerging market trends.
General:
Travel requirements – Approximately 10% to attend trade shows.
Other tasks as defined.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, market research, business administration or communications.
In lieu of degree, 10 years relevant work experience.
8 years of proven experience relevant to this role; a combination of market research & business development.
Experience in an industrial services environment preferred.
Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
Strong knowledge of business development principles and practices, methodologies and tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to present findings effectively.
Ability to effectively convey technical information and issues clearly, concisely and persuasively.
Proficiency with MS Office and CRM (MS Dynamics preferred).
Understanding of the construction tendering and bidding.
Familiarity and proficiency with market research methodologies, tools, statistical software, virtualization platforms such as VMWare & Hyper-V, and database management systems.
Knowledge of various market research techniques, including surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
Understanding of business concepts, marketing principles, and strategic decision-making.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Understanding of industry trends and competitive landscape.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 10%.
