General Summary: A preschool teacher provides students educational support that will foster and accelerate their intellectual, physical, social, and career development in accordance with district policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Develop an indoor and outdoor learning environment that provides a variety of age appropriate experiences to foster child exploration and discovery.
- Interacts with children through instructional methods to include play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, science and physical activities.
- Model appropriate and respectful behavior to the children and fellow staff.
- Assess each child’s learning needs through screening, observation, and ongoing assessment.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, families, co-workers and public.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for children to learn and grow.
- Monitor and supervise students as needed, during instruction, lunch, and play.
- Conduct assigned activities from the administration in conformity with the approved policies of the Board of Education and State and Federal Law.
- Maintain confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Indiana Teacher’s License
Length of Contract: 185 days/yr
