Job Description
The Agricultural Equipment Technician will independently perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. The technician may require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, or Shop Foreman. Key responsibilities include performing complex diagnostics and repairs, participating in service training programs, diagnosing and repairing equipment in the field, mentoring technicians, maintaining current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products, maintaining vehicle and tool condition, following safety rules, and completing reports and forms.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years of experience performing service repairs, expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment, ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions, ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly, and a Master Service Technician certification (preferred). A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required; an Associate's degree is preferred. A valid driver's license is required, and a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) and fork lift license are preferred.
