Overview:
Olde Yankee Inc is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy equipment to assist in construction and maintenance projects. You will play a vital role in the loading of sand into hopper barges, ensuring the smooth operation of our facility. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Duties:
- Loading Operations: Safely operate heavy equipment such as loaders, truck unloaders, conveyor belts, and bobcats to efficiently load sand into hopper barges.
- Safely transport materials and equipment to and from job sites
- Follow project plans and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient work
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify any maintenance or repair needs
-Laborious Tasks: Engage in physically demanding tasks such as cleaning up after barges are loaded, ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the site, and participating in general labor activities as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines
-Facility Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep of the facility, including cleaning and organizing work areas, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
-Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and inspections on all heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance. This includes but is not limited to routine checks, lubrication, and minor repairs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or similar environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment including Front-End Loaders, Truck Unloaders, Bobcats with attachments, conveyor belts, etc.
- Knowledge of construction techniques and practices
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
-Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
-Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of heavy equipment mechanics and the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.

-Physical Stamina: Ability to perform laborious tasks and work in outdoor environments, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
