The Principal is the chief administrator of a school, responsible for developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets to promote educational development of students and professional growth of staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops the district's mission and plans accordingly to ensure procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out the total school program.
- Evaluates student progress and maintains up-to-date student data.
- Supervises and appraises the performance of the school staff.
- Manages materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for daily school routine.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid North Carolina Teaching License required.
- Bachelor degree in Education or related field required.
- Master's degree in School Administration or Supervision preferred.
- Five years or more of teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.
- Can apply principles of logical thinking to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under stress and in emergency situations.
