Hiring for a full-time position in an established, thriving, modern, busy, multi-doctor, cat-only veterinary hospital.
Require at least 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant. Gentle patient handling skills are a must (or a strong desire to learn these techniques).
Must be a team player and have a FRIENDLY, professional, can-do manner. Our clinic culture requires a positive, upbeat attitude and demeanor from all employees. Drama and inappropriate language are not permitted.
The ideal candidate would have knowledge/skills in the following: Assisting doctors, laboratory procedures, radiology, dental radiology, client communication, medical procedures, pharmacy, operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment, treatment of hospitalized patients, assisting in the operating room, compliance with OSHA and Hazardous Materials programs, grooming and general cleaning. The ideal candidate would also enjoy working occasionally in a front desk role. Every member of our Team interacts with clients and patients.
Regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:10am - 5:00pm. Weekend shifts occur approximately every 7 weeks. Weekend shifts involve an early morning and late afternoon visit to the clinic on Saturdays and Sundays, to take care of boarders and hospitalized patients, check voicemail messages, return client phone calls and correspond with Clinic doctors (as needed).
Technicians are extensively involved with doctors and patients. Our clinic is equipped with more specialized equipment and a greater range of diagnostic capabilities than many small animal hospitals (including endoscopy, ultrasound and digital radiography).
Each Team member takes part in ALL cleaning duties, including (but not limited to): litter boxes, laundry, mopping, scrubbing, bathrooms, dusting, post-surgery, instruments, etc. If we are not actively involved in something related to veterinary medicine, we are cleaning!
We maintain a DRUG-FREE and SMOKE-FREE workplace. Smoking is not allowed on clinic premises. Employees are not allowed to enter the building if the smell from smoking can be detected on their person. Employment is contingent on the results of a criminal background check and random drug tests.
