As the Shop Foreman at CAT Controls LLC, you will be a key player in the successful execution of projects by providing guidance and leadership to the shop staff. This role involves overseeing the assembly, wiring, and engraving processes, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. Additionally, you will collaborate with the General Manager and Accounting to set production schedules, advise on quotations, and contribute to the development and implementation of a review process for each wireman/tech.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Guidance:
- Provide guidance and discipline for shop staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Assign jobs to specific technicians based on skills and workload.
Supervision of Build Phase:
- Supervise the work of technicians during the build phase of projects.
- Ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
Production Schedule and Quotations:
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Accounting to set realistic production schedules.
- Advise on quotations by providing insights into labor and material requirements.
Inventory Control:
- Assist with inventory control as needed, ensuring sufficient stock of materials and components.
- Work with the procurement team to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Review Process Implementation:
- Participate in the formation and implementation of a review process for each wireman/tech.
- Establish yearly goals and objectives for shop staff, providing constructive feedback.
Equipment Preparation and Shipping:
- Supervise the preparation of equipment for shipping, ensuring proper packaging and documentation.
- Coordinate with logistics to meet delivery deadlines.
Assembly, Wiring, and Engraving:
- Oversee the assembly of electrical panels, ensuring precision and efficiency.
- Supervise the wiring process to guarantee accurate and reliable connections.
- Manage the engraving process for panel labeling and identification.
Qualifications and skills:
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or electrical panel fabrication environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical panel assembly, wiring, and engraving processes.
- Familiarity with inventory control and production scheduling.
