Experienced Veterinary Assistant needed. Do you love cats? Responsibilities:
- Prepare cages, exam tables, instruments, equipment, rooms and cats for various procedures.
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and surgery.
- Provide cat friendly, fear free handling techniques for exams and treatments (Fear Free Certification or willing to obtain certification required).
- Monitor and record vital signs of cats.
- Perform laboratory tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis.
- Clean and sterilize equipment, instruments, and facility.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and medications.
- Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Deliver excellent client service to employees, volunteers, adopters and clients.
- Using practice software to document communications and medical procedures.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a single focus: helping cats and their people live better lives
- Previous experience working as a veterinary assistant
- Know fear free restraint techniques are be willing to learn
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks while maintaining strict detail accuracy
- Desire to do whatever is necessary as part of an efficient team
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods of time
