Job Summary:
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of a manufacturing production process, ensuring efficiency, quality standards are met, and production targets are achieved by managing a team of workers, monitoring production schedules, and maintaining a safe working environment; key duties include assigning tasks, troubleshooting issues, conducting quality checks, and reporting on production progress while adhering to safety regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Overseeing and directing production workers, assigning tasks, and ensuring they follow established procedures.
- Developing and implementing detailed production schedules to meet deadlines and optimize resource utilization.
- Monitoring production processes to ensure products meet quality standards, identifying and resolving quality issues.
- Enforcing safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and promoting a safe working environment.
- Ensuring proper functioning of production machinery, scheduling regular maintenance, and identifying repair needs
- Tracking production metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and reporting progress to management.
- Monitoring inventory levels, coordinating material requirements, and managing stock to avoid disruptions.
- Providing training to new employees on production processes and safety procedures.
- Empower employees and train on new functions to develop a cross-functional team.
- Identifying and resolving production issues, including troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and addressing operational challenges.
- Coordinating and collaborating with other departments like quality, maintenance, and materials management.
Education/Experience
- 5-7 years of supervisor experience in managing at least 20 people in a manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge of blueprints, standards specifications
- Machining background is a plus
- Experience in ISO:9001 Environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Proficiency in ERP Systems; preferably with SaaS Epicor Kinetic software
