Description Caterpillar’s Product Technology Development Excellence and Quality, a department within the Integrated Components and Solutions division, is currently seeking an Engineering Project Team Leader for Cost Modeling application and continuous improvement support to be located at the Caterpillar Technical Center in Mossville, IL. This role will specifically support excellence.cat.com cost modeling applications, along with running projects to improve processes related to cost reduction efforts being implemented across the enterprise, collaborating, and reporting status updates for all Caterpillar divisions across the globe. This will enable you to build strong relationships with various stakeholders and clients, enabling you to make a significant impact on Caterpillar’s success by improving the company´s ability to exceed customer expectations, improving quality, reducing internal costs, and increasing OPACC. Job Duties Lead and develop enhancements specific to cost modeling applications, improving alignment amongst the multiple users supporting cost reduction efforts across the enterprise (RI, CI, E&T, SPPD) Lead multiple projects concurrently, including complex (multiple design controls or organizations) and high effectiveness or value impact projects. Lead and develop process standards and training documentation for enterprise deployment and team development. Train, coach and mentor Caterpillar team members worldwide. Collaborate with cross functional teams and representatives from all Business Units to define data or solution requirements for any of the Excellence applications. Ensure process or application change requests are appropriate and consistent with STLF, MSODLF, or Excellence application guiding principles, standards, and roadmaps Provide process / deep technical support to facilitate resolution of application usage gaps Manage, develop, and execute extensive communication plans to highlight progress to stakeholders including executive management. Basic Qualifications Requires an Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Technology field with 6 years of product development, purchasing, and/or cost reduction experience, design engineering, product service engineering, manufacturing, project management, or as a cost modeling subject matter expert. Top Candidates will also have Self-starter and team player with strong communication, presentation, and training skills, as well as excellent analytical skills. Must have the ability to influence leaders, team members and others internal to the work group, as well employees in other units, clients, customers, and suppliers. Accomplished in the use of enterprise applications specific to cost reduction deployment (aPriori, Leading Metrics, TcPCM, Product Cost Management or PCM, CICT, Reduced Purchased Material or RPM) Strong analytical skills and capabilities, with the ability to draw insights from data to make well informed decisions. 3 years of CPI Team Leader or 6 Sigma Black Belt experience leading complex projects 6 Sigma Black Belt Certification Ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders and strong business acumen Distinct customer and client focus with the ability to deal with sensitive issues, mentor and coach, and/or persuade others on new methods of application use, new technology and distribution methods. Additional Information The location for this position is Mossville, IL. Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position. This position may require up to 25% travel.
