Cataldo is the largest private EMS provider and private ambulance service in Massachusetts. In addition to topping 50,000 emergency medical transportations annually through 911 contacts with multiple cities, we partner with some of Massachusetts top medical facilities to provide non-emergency medical ambulance and wheelchair transportation services. We are also an EMS provider to specialty venues like Fenway Park, Warrior Arena, and TD Garden.

As a public health resource, Cataldo offers training and education to the healthcare and emergency medical community through the Cataldo Education Center. This includes certification training for new employees as well as the training needed for career advancement. Through our partnerships with health systems, hospitals, managed care organizations, and others, we continue to provide in-home care through the state’s first and largest Mobile Integrated Health program, SmartCare. We also have delivered more than 1.7 million Covid-19 vaccines and continue to operate testing and vaccination sites throughout the state of Massachusetts.

Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Dispatcher Job Benefits

Starting wages $26 / hour, commensurate with experience
Rotating 12hr overnights 6pm-6am

MIH Dispatcher Role Description

Mobile Integrated Healthcare is delivering the future of healthcare by providing the right care, at the right time, in the right place. Providing an option for on-demand, in-home physician supported care, our innovative SmartCare division is improving patient outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction, and reducing the number of hospital admissions and re-admissions through community paramedicine.

This unique medical call center job not only provides medical answering services but prioritize and dispatch community paramedic resources. An MIH Call Taker is responsible for effective communication with patients, their families, and their healthcare providers as well as data entry throughout their shift. This allows patients to be treated directly in their homes to reduce the need for ambulance transportation and hospital stays. Due to the nature of care needed, SmartCare professionals work as an extension of the patient’s medical team and may work closely with the same set of patients and their families.

MIH Dispatcher Responsibilities

Answer all incoming telephone calls

Maintain a professional decorum when answering or placing calls

Ensure proper data entry of each call for notification and backup

Enter all pertinent calls into the CAD system in a timely and accurate fashion

Determine relevant CAD input; enrollment, admission, or visit / evaluation

Triage, record, and assign calls as needed to the appropriate MIH resource

Track, follow up, and record times of assigned Community Paramedics and vehicles

Complete other duties as assigned

Dispatch appropriate medical transportation

Review available resources and communicate expected arrival times with healthcare facilities

Maintain communication and expectations with healthcare facilities

Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Dispatcher Job Requirements

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred but not required

Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills is a must

Ability to work in a team setting

Detail oriented, punctual, and able to multitask effectively

Multitask data entry 20-30 words per minute with active listening during call processing.

At least 1-year experience in this or other telecommunications environment

Possess strong customer service and communication skills

Be able to work independently and be able to function as part of a care planning team

Commitment to providing exemplary customer service

MIH Dispatcher Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit for long periods of time
