Boiler Control Room Operator

Shift: rotation shift 7 on, 2 off, 5 on, 4 off, 7 on, 3 off.

The Role

• Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers and auxiliary boiler plant equipment, Centrifugal chillers, towers, and related pumps
• Manage boiler water and water tower test and treatment
• Monitor the facility’s utility plant, air handlers, exhaust fans, manufacturing suites, labs, and office wings for temperatures, humidity and pressurization utilizing the Building Automation System
• Respond to alarms and equipment failure, including notification and documentation
• Analyze problems and failures and decide whether to restore, repair, and/or report
• Clean water system operation including softeners, Reverse Osmosis, Lab De-ionized, R.O.D.I., and Purified
• Maintain daily logs and equipment logs
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on equipment
• Train junior mechanics where necessary
• All other duties as assigned;

The Candidate

• Trade School Diploma or Associates Degree is preferred, a High School Diploma or GED required
• 7 or more years of experience required as a Boiler Operator or similar
• A New Jersey State Boiler Operator’s License (Blue Seal) is required
• Working knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing principles
• Experience working with HVAC systems, including large tonnage chillers and air handling equipment
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.

• Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds;

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
