St. Petersburg is our primary soft gel development and manufacturing facility in North America with capacity of 18 billion capsules per year. The Formulation Manager, Product Development will ensure that appropriate support systems are in place to support the operational needs of Product Development including the establishment, monitoring, communicating, and executing the laboratory schedule in support of the needs of the laboratory. The Formulation Manager, Product Development performs finite scheduling of Analytical Development group to achieve Analytical Product Development performance goals.

The Role
Develop and maintain a strategic lab planning process to support resource planning.
Provide clear visibility of milestone completion dates and ensure resources (personnel, equipment) are adequate to attain.
Accountability for oversight of the MER process.
Ensure that all the supplies required by the analytical development laboratory are in place.
Oversight of sample management systems including all electronic processes/systems involved.
Liaises with internal customers to ensure project requirements are met and positive customer relations are maintained.
Ensure that the analytical laboratory has adequate operation systems for scheduling, resourcing etc. to maintain optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
Assures that key quality and compliance metrics are met by Analytical Product Development in carrying out analytical development work.
Collaborates effectively with other functions within Catalent.
Drives a culture of continuous improvement through the utilization of operational excellence principles and best practice sharing to ensure high quality and speed of execution.

The Candidate
PhD/MS in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics or related science required OR
Bachelors degree with 5 years relevant pharmaceutical analytical development experience required
10 years pharmaceutical development experience required, preferably with FDA-regulated products (Rx, generic and consumer health)
5 years of managerial experience. Contract development experience preferable.
This position will be stationed in an office and laboratory environment involving work around various instrumentation and chemicals including active pharmaceutical ingredients; required office equipment such as computer monitor screen; and other conditions reasonably expected due to the nature of the work required.
Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift to 15 pounds; no lifting greater than 44.09 pounds without assistance.
