JOB SUMMARY
As a Houseperson, you are responsible for cleaning and maintaining property maintenance administered by the Catalina Island Company.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
- Clean and maintain the property designated by management
- Assist with both set up and break down of operations on the beach
- Wash and fold of linens
- Clean all trash receptacles
- Maintain and clean all common areas
- Ensure all lights are clean and functioning
- Basic property maintenance – pain, sand cleaning, sanitization
- Assist guests with any needs or questions they may have
- Other duties as assigned
DETAILS
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: May- Mid October
PAY TRANSPARENCY
The pay scale for this position ranges between $18.00-$20.00 per hour depending on the work location. The pay is the hourly rate.
The total compensation package is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and education or training.
SCHEDULE
This position requires a flexible schedule with shifts that consist of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekends shifts, including day, night, and holiday work hours.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, be creative, and motivated
- Knowledge and ability to use tools and equipment
- Ability to adhere to occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- Must have great attention to detail to ensure safety and overall positive guest experience
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Able to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Our workplace is clean, lighted and ventilated with proper safety compliance. Noise levels are considered medium and daily physical activities are considered moderate. Employees must have the stamina to work long hours if assigned. Hours and days of work may vary by position. Most work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment. Up to 50 lbs. Also, you must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time. This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
