What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager - Food Service position at Catallia Mexican Foods?
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for enhancing the food service sales efforts of Catallia Mexican Foods. Build strong and profitable relationships with a wide variety account throughout the region in an effort to enhance the sales in existing accounts, as well as cultivate new sales.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Call on restaurant operators, foodservice distributors, food manufacturers, schools and other potential new customers of our Catallia Foodservice brand of tortillas.
- Manage existing customer base with regular communication, attentive account management, and business reviews to evaluate sales and new business opportunities.
- Analyze foodservice sales performance and projections regularly, while executing sales strategies to reach department and company sales goals
- Report on sales performance and activities at regular management meetings and monthly sales meetings
- Collaborate and work closely with our foodservice broker in soliciting new business, coordinating samples, following up on new business leads and attending food shows.
- Become a subject matter expert in Catallia tortillas with the ability to educate/train distributor buyers, restaurant operators, and any other industry personnel on “why” Catallia is the preferred, premium tortilla brand
- Interact professionally with all customers and brokers to ensure excellent representation of Catallia and our brand
- Work closely with Catallia operation and management teams to onboard new customers and coordinate sample requests to ensure the business interests of both Catallia and the customer are met.
- Resolve claims and conflicts in a timely manner.
- Provide quotes and new product information to clients
- Stay informed regarding new products, industry updates and changes to the customer and/or competitive landscape.
General Responsibilities
- Actively participate in Food Safety and Food Defense related activities.
- Perform additional duties as directed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 15 years food industry sales background is required,
- Wholesale or foodservice distribution experience preferred
- Mexican Food or culinary experience is a plus
Specific Competencies
- Fluent in Spanish preferred

- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, with occasional overnights.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 30lbs to provide samples or delivery assistance.
