Job Summary: We seek a skilled Data Analyst with a background in healthcare and proficiency in data standards, SQL, Azure Synapse, and Tableau or Power BI. The ideal candidate will have mid-level experience and be adept at turning complex data into clear and actionable insights. Additionally, the candidate must be able to interface with physicians and other healthcare professionals to explain complex problems in simple, understandable terms.

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
- Assist in building out key operational dashboards including:
- Productivity KPIs such as total volume, patients per day, workdays by provider, schedule utilization, wRVUs, collections per visit, etc.
- Key RCM metrics such as days in AR, payer mix, denial rate, net collection rate by payer and responsible party TOS collection, charge lag, adjustment rate, bad debt percentage, etc.
- Demographic KPIs such as patient mix, panel size, appointment types
- Access metrics such as third-next available appointment, number of new patients per month, appointment slots per provider, etc.
- Support financial month-end close reporting from the athena system which includes:
- Data Pull (AR, charges, payments, adjustments, cash collections)
- Data formatting for Netsuite general ledger
- Develop, implement, and maintain data models and ETL processes using Azure Synapse.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau or Power BI to visualize data insights.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security by adhering to industry data standards and best practices.
- Conducted data quality assessments and troubleshot data issues.
- Translate complex data findings into understandable narratives and actionable recommendations.
- Interface with physicians and other healthcare professionals to explain data insights and complex problems in simple terms.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in healthcare data analytics and technologies.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, data science, healthcare informatics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Azure Synapse.
- Proven experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Mandatory knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT).
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance in healthcare.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Proven ability to explain complex problems and data insights in simple, understandable terms to non-technical stakeholders, including physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Experience with additional data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
- Certification in data analytics or relevant healthcare informatics certifications.
- Understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical terminologies.
