What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent & Provider Educator position at Catalyst Kids?
The Parent & Provider Educator plays a key role in delivering childcare and development education to both parents and childcare providers. Additionally, this position involves drafting proposals, planning, and coordinating comprehensive annual educational programs and organizational training initiatives as part of the Resource & Referral (R&R) program. The educator also contributes to outreach efforts aimed at recruiting and retaining family childcare providers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, train, market, and recruit participants for training programs in El Dorado and Alpine Counties.
- Schedule provider and parent trainings and deliver engaging presentations on topics such as Trauma-Informed Care, Strengthening Families, CPR / First Aid, Preventative Health, and Lead Prevention.
- Collaborate with the R&R team to increase childcare capacity through targeted services.
- Implement timelines and outcome surveys to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Track data and coordinate with the R&R Supervisor to prepare semi-annual and annual reports for funders.
- Stay current on best practices through meetings, webinars, and professional development.
- Create and share training materials, newsletters, and an annual training calendar.
- Provide technical assistance to parents and childcare providers on child development and licensing regulations. Share up-to-date licensing and PIN information with providers and R&R staff.
- Participate in community events to promote educational programs and increase childcare capacity.
- Work with funders and outside agencies as needed to supply provider / parent collaboration and data collaboration.
- Offer enhanced Bridge referrals, coaching to providers, and connections to community social services.
- Support the Childcare Initiative Project with outreach and capacity-building activities.
- Provide childcare referrals and collaborate with office and R&R teams to share program offerings.
- Write proposals and assist in renewing contracts by analyzing current needs and data.
- Deliver ongoing education, training, and high-quality childcare resources and referrals to parents and providers, ensuring comprehensive support to meet client needs.
- Represent the organization with professionalism when interacting with families, childcare providers, and community agencies.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications : Relevant experience / certifications in lieu of formal education will be considered.
