Job Summary:
Catalyst Kids is seeking a qualified After School Instructor to lead daily activities, provide tutoring and homework assistance, and implement educational enrichment programs for students from TK to 8th grade. This is a part-time position, Monday through Friday, 1pm to 6pm.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily activities, including tutoring, homework assistance, and educational enrichment programs.
- Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to create and implement all Catalyst ExpandEd Learning (ExL) curriculum, rules, and procedures.
- Develop and implement educational enrichment programs that promote positive youth development strategies, recreation, and prevention activities.
- Work collaboratively with staff members at the site, both internally and externally, to ensure seamless integration of Catalyst programs with school day activities.
- Track students' progress using programmatic protocol and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure the students receive consistent supervision and provide a safe and supported environment at all times.
- Instructors are responsible for maintaining a safe environment and are required to promptly complete all necessary safety documentation, including injury reports and license-exempt Unusual Incident Reports (UIRs).
- Track attendance daily and fill out lesson planning forms weekly.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with students and families and relay feedback to the Site Coordinator.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college units in education, recreation, child development desired.
- Ability to solely manage a classroom of up to 20 students, ranging from TK to 8th grade.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional interpersonal and partnering relationship skills.
- Enthusiastic and highly motivated.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
