What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Abuse Counselor position at Catalyst Life Services?
Through the new Great Minds Fellowship Workforce Commitment Incentive Program, recent graduates can apply to potentially receive as much as $20,000 in grant funding if they commit to working at a CBHC in Ohio for at least one year of full-time employment. The amount of funding per successful applicant is subject to availability. Funds can be used to help graduates cover costs related to their education.
To qualify for the new Workforce Commitment Incentive Program, applicants must have graduated or received certification in or after May 2023 from one of the following types of academic programs: mental health counseling, psychiatric and mental health nursing, substance abuse/addiction counseling, social work, or marriage and family counseling. Applicants also must be employed or have an offer of employment for a clinical position at an eligible CBHC with a start date no later than January 6, 2025.
We’re looking for a licensed Clinician to join our team that values growth, contributes to a supportive agency culture, and is motivated to supporting the needs of the SUD population.
Essential counselor duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Intake and assessment interviews
- Treatment planning
- Individual counseling
- Facilitate group therapy using Evidence-Based Practices
- Complete required paperwork/reporting to various referral sources
- Staff meeting attendance
- Proficiency with clinical documentation and timeliness
- Aftercare planning
- Referrals to other mental/physical health providers, internally or in the community.
Qualifications:
- LSW, LPC, MFT or LCDCIII
- Clinical services are offered in both telehealth and in-person delivery methods. Comfort and willingness to provide services in both methods is necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish healthy and appropriate boundaries with clients.
- Ability and willingness to cooperate with agency staff and other agencies.
- Understanding and adherence to federal confidentiality regulations (HIPAA & 42 CFR Part 2), and commitment to adhere to agency as well as all funding source policies and procedures/mandates.
- Excellent people skills and team orientation.
- Ability to use computer/technology, Microsoft Word, etc. as well as an understanding of using an Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) system.
