Job Purpose
The Packer is responsible for producing high quality powder products in the powder packaging department by following specifications listed in the work order.
Essential Duties
- Handle the startup and shut down of the line and various equipment in the packaging line.
- Read and understand the work order and specifications to ensure correct components are used for production.
- Follow all SOPs and cGMP requirements.
- load and unload components to various equipment in the packaging line.
- assist in changeovers, washing and sanitization of production lines.
- Learn the various equipment in the line to ensure proper use.
- Participate in all applicable safety and food safety training and wear proper personal protective equipment as needed.
- Palletize finished product
- Spot check product to ensure that it has proper labels, presentable packaging, proper master case label with relevant information.
- Maintain a clean workspace by assisting in housekeeping duties to minimize food safety risks.
- Able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly, 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds with assistance, daily.
- Use material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks.
- Willing to work overtime as necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education:
- High school diploma /GED or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Experience:
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Working quickly without compromising quality
- In a food facility or facility that follows cGMP practices is preferred but not required.
Key Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
- Knowledge of the cGMP
- Ability to communicate thoroughly with peers and management.
