Job Summary

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), you'll be a vital part of our team, helping our communities thrive by supporting clinical operations and ensuring everything runs smoothly for our patients. Role And Responsibilities

  • Work as a team with medical assistants in rooming patients to enable timely patient flow.
  • Prepare patients for examination.
  • Document history or the reason for visit in the patient's chart.
  • Take and record height, weight, blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration, temperature, and other information regarding patient care.
  • Administer medications and/or injections, and monitor response to treatment and medication.
  • Document patient results to treatment and medication administration.
  • Assist the clinical staff in completing examinations and procedures as instructed.
  • Triage walk-in patients and emergency telephone calls to determine the need for an immediate appointment or emergency services.
  • Check blood pressures on requested walk-in patients in a timely manner.
  • Under direct supervision of a physician, telephone and/or ERx prescription refills to pharmacies and document in the chart.
  • Schedule referral appointments, CT scans, MRI, and/or other procedures.
  • Educate patients and families regarding the plan of treatment or procedure.
  • Assist with preparing exam and/or surgery rooms with sterile instruments.
  • Obtain lab samples and completely fill out lab slips and other forms, when necessary.
  • Follow universal precautions to protect self and patients.
  • Extract all incoming medical records into the patient's chart by documenting and scanning information in their respective categories.
  • Stock exam rooms with supplies.
  • Take responsibility for medical instrument cleaning and sterilization in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Assist in the lab by performing blood draws.
  • Relate to the public regardless of racial, ethnic, and economic status.
  • Promote and believe in providing quality healthcare services and education to the community in a convenient and compassionate manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited LVN program required. Current licensure required.
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills.
  • Follow organization and OSHA safety rules and procedures.
  • Uphold HIPAA/PHI regulations.
  • Be punctual and dependable for assigned shifts.

Preferred Experience

  • 3-6 years' experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Experience with ATHENA EMR.
  • CPR certification preferred.
