Since 1999 Catalyst has grown to occupy a 28,000-square foot design center dedicated to user experience exploration, industrial design, brainstorming, engineering, prototyping, injection mold tooling, plastic molding, and short-run assembly. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, professional individual who understands that selling creative professional services is not like selling vacuum cleaners. The right candidate will know that selling intangible services is about establishing rapport, showing credibility, and making clients successful through the benefit of our services, and not necessarily the services themselves.

Attractive benefit package with health insurance, 401K, performance bonuses, paid holidays / vacation. Compensation will be base salary plus commission.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to generate sales through networking, industry events, and other means of reaching potential clients. This individual is responsible for creating strategic sales plans, educating and entertaining potential clients, and presenting proposals. This individual will work with clients to cultivate relationships and should feel comfortable maintaining regular communication on both a professional and interpersonal level. Strategic planning is a key component of this role and will require thorough knowledge of the industries we work in as well as solutions and services Catalyst provides.

Ideal candidates will have expertise in the sales and promotion of creative services, professional services, or technical consulting. Knowledge or experience in the areas of industrial design, mechanical design, prototyping, and / or plastic injection tooling and molding is a plus.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
  • Network to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Research and build relationships with new clients.
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders / Principals.
  • Plan approaches and pitches.
  • Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Participate in pricing the solution / service.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
  • Attend trade shows, industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends
  • Identify opportunities that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure sales data is accurate.
  • Ensure sales data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM program (Hubspot).
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure targets are met.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet targets.
