A Chemical / Materials manufacturing operation near Baton Rouge , needs an Operations Superintendent.
The position manages all aspects of day to day operation in a chemical plant. Title is synonymous with "production manager" or similar. This is a medium-sized operation; part of a global company.
Ideal candidate can come up from either maintenance / reliability or process / production engineering.
There is backup and training.
The Job :
- Directly manage a total of approximately 15 operators, techs, etc, in 24 / 7 plant on a multi-plant site.
- Ensure optimal and safe operation within company and regulatory safety protocol.
- Lead / ensure ops with PSM, RMP, etc, guidelines
- Responsible for the production of the plant - has j proper authority to all for this responsibility and authority!
- Training, supervise, hire / fire responsibility
- Work with other plants, HSE, maint / reliaibly, etc, to ensure mutual success.
- Documentation of all areas of the operating plant - PHAs, procedural audits, quality, production issues, etc.
- Classic chemical-plant type setting with pressure vessels, reactors, pumps, environmental controls, etc, that all must work well with the nearby humans.
