Front Desk Attendant
Summary:
At Catalyst Training Gyms, the Front Desk Attendant is the face and personality of our clubs. Our front desk design is laid out in such a way to welcome members to sit and chat before and after each workout, leaving our front desk attendants to be the first and lasting impression of our brand. As a Front Desk Attendant, you’ll be expected to smile, warmly greet all members and guests and be able to multitask at a fast pace. Your tasks will also entail answering the phone, making shakes, using and balancing a cash register, signing up memberships when memberships advisors are not able and ultimately be responsive and courteous to members needs and requests. The Front Desk Attendant is an essential part of our Catalyst team and serves as a great gateway into the fitness industry for those that are looking to grow within the company or industry.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Service:
- Promptly and warmly greeting & sending off our members and guests with a smile as they enter and leave our facilities.
- Ability to respectfully address and even defuse all initial member concerns and complaints, while keeping open lines of communication to delegate escalated situations to the associated team member or manager required to resolve them.
- Able to multitask in a fast paced setting operating the juice bar, while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Promptly answering the telephone to answer member questions or transfer a prospect’s telephone inquiry over to a Membership Advisor.
- Effectively complete all shift tasks related to daily operations.
Sales
- Effectively and accurately completing all sales transactions & balancing the shift drawer.
- Confidently and accurately presenting membership options to prospects when a membership advisor is not able, as well as learning and relaying all membership contract rules and obligations.
- Maintains strong product knowledge on juice bar supplements & merchandise
Quality Control
- Maintaining a high attention to detail with consistent facility walk-throughs to assure cleanliness & orderly appearance through out your shift
- Assists in restocking merchandise at the juice bar and retail area
- Effectively completing basic “Team Clean” tasks assigned to each shift
- Taking pride in the facility and your team and escalating maintenance or obvious issues to the Club manager
Key Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High energy and outgoing
- Customer focus attitude
- Enjoys working in a team setting
Education & Experience:
- High school / GED degree preferred.
- A strong customer focus attitude.
- Related industry experience preferred (i.e. restaurant, retail, hospitality, fitness, etc.).
- Great communication skills.
- Previous sales experience is a plus.
- A passion for the fitness industry
- Must enjoy working in a team setting.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This role will require walking and standing during the entire shift, or remain stationary for long periods of time. This would require the ability to lift weights, 5lbs up to 100lbs and bend or stand as necessary. This position will also require frequent washing of hands.
Shifts:
This is a part time or full-time position with varied hours based on the shift needs of the business.
(Examples of a shift could be: Opening: 5/6am - 10am, Mid: 10am-3pm, Close: 3pm-8pm)

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekends as needed
