As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing both proactive and reactive service excellence to clients through technical expertise, preventative maintenance, and effective communication. You will be the face of the company when working with clients, representing the brand, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service in the field.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing installation, maintenance, calibration, and emergency repairs on low/medium/high voltage power systems and equipment. You will troubleshoot complex issues, diagnose problems, and implement solutions in intense, high-level risk environments with minimal supervision. This requires extensive travel (80-95%) to client sites, including potential international assignments.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform field preventative maintenance, installation, calibration, and emergency services for clients on low/medium/high voltage power systems.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, diagnose, repair, and service generator components including breakers, shutdown switches, wiring harnesses, alternators, and battery systems.
- Deliver technical expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, electrical control maintenance, and voltage theory.
- Conduct on-site field surveys and provide support for upgrade solutions and control modifications.
- Offer accurate resolutions and maintenance education for clients in high-risk or security environments.
- Assist in mentoring 3rd Class Field Service Technicians under supervision.
- Ensure safety of personnel and equipment by providing on-call emergency services.
- Maintain communication with internal departments and collaborate with other technicians in the field.
- Promote cost reductions, drive accurate maintenance and service estimations, and increase part sales.
- Represent the company as a singular point of contact while on client sites.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Must reside in Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, or Mississippi.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in installation, testing, reliability, or maintenance of governors, generators, regulators, or switchgear.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in power generation, utilities, oil/gas, marine, or energy industries.
- Service experience in electrical controls.
- Knowledge of advanced electric principles and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with equipment maintenance and technical services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with tools including multimeters, wrenches, drivers, drills, wiring tools, and soldering iron.
- Valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle record within the past 7 years.
- Liability insurance.
- TWIC and Passport required.
- Certifications in firefighting, scaffolding, first aid, and CPR.
- Willingness and ability to travel to locations outside of the United States.
- Technical School Diploma in Industrial Electrical or Technician Maintenance.
- EGSA Certification.
- Engineering or PLC programming experience.
- Knowledge of PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Quantum, Premium, etc.).
- Experience with relay and relay-based programming for undervoltage and protection (Basler, Multilin, Sepam, Zelio, Woodward, etc.).
- Familiarity with communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet, Fiber Optic).
- Experience with custom design for software and hardware technology.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Technical School Diploma in Industrial Electrical or Technician Maintenance preferred.
- Industry certifications are a plus.
