Senior Engineer
A Senior Engineer is an individual who operates independently without direct supervision and is responsible for leading the delivery of an engagement with the sole intent of providing immense value for customers. To be successful in this role, a Senior Engineer will be expected to maintain mastery in a capability aligned with service practices while also developing pathways toward future opportunities they would like to explore. Additionally, they will be expected not only to execute all tasks provided in a statement of work but also to lead a team of Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers in their day-to-day operations and career development. This individual will be the most senior engineer on a project and will be expected to assist Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers with tasking. Excellent communication skills and strong leadership abilities are essential for this role, as these individuals will interact with clients and engineers regularly in a leadership capacity.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Execute all tasks outlined in the scope of work and follow standard operating procedures with no direct oversight.
- Lead discussions with clients to analyze and understand their needs and objectives.
- Assist Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers with complex tasking.
- Lead technical discussions with the client to understand their engineering requirements.
- Develop and implement technical support strategies for clients during and after project implementation.
- Serve as the escalation level for complex issues as necessary.
- Document project progress, issues, and resolutions in a concise and timely manner.
- Consistently self-review work to identify and improve approaches for producing high-quality work.
- Review work of Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers to assist in their approach to producing high-quality work.
Engagement Management
- Serve as a mentor for Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers.
- Report any issues with the team to senior leadership, as well as any kudos or positive feedback.
Client Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Adhere to availability standards for responding to client inquiries.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to clients.
- Identify and communicate cross-sell and up-sell opportunities with the account team across services.
What We're Looking For
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly required.
- Splunk Core certification required.
- Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) certification preferred.
- Splunk Certified Architect/Consultant preferred.
- Experience with, or interest in, learning, deploying, and maintaining Splunk SOAR.
- Security Certification (i.e., Security , CISSP, etc.) required.
- Experience operating in classified environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area or at least 8 years of related work experience.
- Strong understanding of identity, SIEM, cybersecurity, and infrastructure concepts.
- Strong Linux and scripting experience (Python, Ansible, Terraform, JSON, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot Splunk instances.
- Ability to create custom Splunk reports, dashboards, and content per customer requirements.
- Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC).
- Strong understanding of governance and compliance, specifically with FAR, DFARs, CUI, and CMMC.
- Broad understanding of FedRAMP and IL constructs.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing engineering teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Experience leading an engineering team, including handling tasking, resolving personnel issues, and providing actionable feedback.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to meet client needs.
