Overview
Summer Journey Overview :
We anticipate programming throughout all NYC boroughs, though most positions concentrated in the Bronx, Staten Island, and Manhattan. We are committed to thoughtfully matching staff with their grade and location preference to the best of our ability . Final placement decisions occur after the offer is accepted and all onboarding tasks are completed successfully.
The Summer Journey Program is not expected to begin before June 30 th and will likely run for 6 full weeks with a Monday through Thursday schedule . A required in person training will occur the week of January 23 rd .
Role Ove rview :
The Summer Journey T eacher provides contracted instructional services with the necessary educational expertise in literacy, mathematics, STEM, and related content areas to small groups of K -12 ( primary program K-7) students. The effective teacher delivers all program material to students and keeps students excited and engaged in the learning process. The teacher also communicates and conferences with parents to provide information on student progress.
Responsibilities

Activate Learning
- Customize targeted lesson plans using resources provided.
- Maximize instructional time, meeting student needs through pacing, wait time, and differentiation.
- Ensure the students' educational environment clarifies learning goals and facilitates connections among lessons.
- Use data to scaffold and differentiate instruction.
Foster Empowering Classroom Culture
Develop and Refine Expertise
Document Student Learning Exposure and Outcomes
