What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher (Summer School) position at Catapult Learning?
Overview: The Summer Learning Experience (SLE) teacher provides contracted instructional services with the necessary educational expertise in literacy, mathematics, STEM, and related content areas to small groups of K-12 students. The effective teacher delivers all program material to students and keeps students excited and engaged in the learning process. The teacher also communicates and conferences with parents to provide information on student progress.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned).
- Maintains daily record of student attendance and performance data
- Attends all required professional development modules prior to program start date and throughout program (for compensation at hourly rate)
- Prepares for daily lessons using provided scope and sequence and affiliated instructional materials
- Prepares and opens respective classroom 15-minutes prior to the onset of instruction
- Maintains professional communication and rapport with parents
- Adheres to all requirements for effective and safe instruction
- Attends regular cohort staff meetings (for compensation at hourly rate)
- Maintains open communication with Operation Specialist regarding operational needs and Academic Specialist regarding instructional needs

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Requires a bachelor’s degree, and teaching experience. The Summer Learning Experience teacher effectively and appropriately engages students in academic and co-curricular synchronous sessions, and professionally interacts with colleagues, parents, and school staff. Previous Catapult Learning employees must be in good standing to qualify for this position.

- Attend and complete the following online courses through the DOE:
- School Violence Prevention Course
- Child Abuse Reporting Course
- Fingerprint clearance through DOE PETS system at 65 Court Street, Brooklyn, NY Staff will not be allowed to work with students until the above is completed and verified by the DOE.
Salary : $70,700 - $89,500
