Job Description

The Director Oracle Database Engineering position leads the database team responsible for managing client's public and private cloud databases. This role encompasses strategic leadership in design, implementation, and operations of database solutions. The position involves working closely with infrastructure and application development teams to support cloud database adoption and guide migration strategies from private to public cloud environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead engineering and support teams for modernization efforts
Collaborate with platform and application development teams on modernization plans
Enhance Oracle distributed database service with self-service capabilities
Manage audit and regulatory reviews for cloud database operations
Lead automation initiatives for public and private cloud databases
Provide people leadership to empower and engage team members
Guide migration strategies from private to public cloud
Support adoption of cloud database solutions

Required Experience / Skills

10 years of database engineering, delivery, and support experience

Proven understanding of Oracle technologies in private and public cloud

Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, GitLab)

Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle management

Understanding of Agile methodology

Strong cross-team collaboration abilities

Technical leadership capabilities

Team building and management experience

Nice-to-Haves

Master's degree

Additional certifications in database management or cloud technologies

Experience in financial services industry

Education

Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred

Pay & Benefits Summary

Compensation range : $140,000 - $200,000 (DOE)
