Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Change & Release Management Engineer to lead a critical "Lean-Process" initiative focused on optimizing our lower environments while maintaining robust security and compliance standards. This role sits at the intersection of DevOps, IT Service Management, and business operations, requiring both technical expertise and strong process management skills.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with development teams, business stakeholders, and IT operations to streamline our environment management processes while ensuring the highest standards of quality and security. This position offers the opportunity to drive significant improvements in our deployment pipeline and shape the future of our release management practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of lean processes for environment provisioning and configuration using modern CI/CD practices
- Develop and maintain automated workflows for environment management using tools like Terraform and Ansible
- Chair the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and manage the change control process for all system modifications
- Coordinate release planning and maintain the Forward Schedule Release Calendar
- Conduct release readiness reviews and oversee go-live activities
- Implement and oversee access control systems using RBAC and least privilege principles
- Manage data protection and compliance measures across lower environments
- Establish and maintain monitoring systems for environment health and performance
- Develop and execute business continuity and disaster recovery procedures
- Analyze incident trends and coordinate with Problem Management for root cause analysis
- Evaluate and assess Requests for Change (RFCs) for impact and risk
- Optimize and document Service Management practices
Required Experience/Skills
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 10 years of relevant work experience in IT operations and IT Service Management
- Minimum 5 years experience with JIRA Service Management and ServiceNow
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and frameworks
- Demonstrated experience with deployment methodologies (Agile, CI/CD, Blue/Green, Canary)
- Proven project management experience and understanding of project lifecycle phases
- Deep knowledge of software development lifecycle and configuration management principles
- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools
Nice-to-Haves
- ITIL Certification (version 3 or 4)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of GitOps principles and practices
- Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Background in financial technology or regulated industries
Pay Rate
$65-70 per hour
