What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions - Surgical Services position at Cataract & Laser Institute?
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Efficiently process patients by collecting/verifying health history, medications, and current refraction/CL. If applicable, process Web Registration and confirm accuracy of data during patient’s visit. Verify chart documentation and accurately enter information into appropriate EHR layout.
- Inform patients of current promotions.
- Monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays
- Educate patients on Focal Points chosen from Vision Today Program (if applicable) and provide Program report to Office Manager on a weekly basis.
- Prepare for patient appointments by reviewing their Vision Today selection (if applicable).
- Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous medical office experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines):
- Physical Activity: Talking, Hearing.
- Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Involves sitting most of the time.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:
- Staff members are required to meet training expectations within the initial 90-day probationary period.
- Obtaining certification through an ophthalmology certification program is encouraged. The company will provide assistance to all employees eligible for the Employee Career Development Program.
