What are the responsibilities and job description for the Eligibility Specialist III (IMC III) - Adult Medicaid (LTC) position at Catawba County Government?
Catawba County Social Services is recruiting an experienced Income Maintenance Caseworker to join our team in an advanced Eligibility Specialist III role. In this position, you will determine eligibility for Adult Medicaid – Long Term Care and Special Assistance Programs. Experience preferred but will accept some trainees.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Salary Range: $46,106.03 – 76,074.96 (Compensation negotiable within the salary range for fully qualified applicants. Salary rates are based on education, skill, and experience level as well as internal equity and market rates.)
- Fully qualified means 2 years or more of Income Maintenance experience in a Department of Social Services.
- Trainees with 1 year of Adult Medicaid IMC and/or Long Term Care experience will be accepted. Trainee salary is $43,800.73.
- Determine eligibility for the Medicaid for the Aged, Blind, and Disabled and Special Assistance programs by interviewing, researching, verifying information, and gathering data from citizens applying for assistance.
- Primary responsibility for determining eligibility for Long Term Care, CAP, PACE, and Special Assistance
- Interpret State and Federal guidelines and determining how they apply to each individual situation
- Manage Data in complex computer systems
- Educate clients to assure they are fully aware of the change reporting requirements
- Manage an ongoing caseload by re-determining eligibility and reacting to numerous changes under strict deadlines
- Referral of applicants/recipients to other social services programs and community services
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Business, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or
- High School diploma or GED equivalent and 3 years of demonstrated experience with mathematical work and/or public contact involving interviewing, gathering, and compiling information, including 2 years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker.
