Position Description
Are you a highly motivated Outpatient Therapist with a love for and experience in working with young children and their parents? Catawba County Department of Social Services is seeking a part-time Outpatient Therapist to provide family therapy and individual therapy, parent training, case management, and referral coordination to identified children 0-5 years of age to impact the child's success in overcoming social / emotional difficulties as well as behavioral and mental health issues and ensure kindergarten readiness.
This position is half-time, working 20 hours per week, and includes prorated benefits.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical interventions and case management services to children 0-5 and their families
- Provide consultation and education, as needed, to child care providers and parents / caregivers about a variety of child psychosocial problems and strategies for classroom intervention
- Provide case management services for children and their families, including interagency communication and referral
- Complete thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of case activities for clients served
- Participation in continuing job knowledge and skills; professional development; ongoing training in research and trends for population served
Qualifications
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology and :Outpatient Therapist I : Licensed, at least provisionally, as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychological Associate, or a Licensed Family and Marriage Therapist (Some experience and full licensure preferred).Outpatient Therapist II : Fully licensed as Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychological Associate, or a Licensed Family and Marriage Therapist plus two years of post-full licensure experienceMust meet requirements for Qualified Professional (QP) status as specified by 10A NCAC 27G.0104 and be able to bill Medicaid for servicesAdditional Requirements :

Local Governmental Employees Retirement System : For employees assigned to work 20 hours per week or more in a benefitted position, participation in this program is automatic. Employees contribute 6% of their salary, which is tax deferred. After (5) years of creditable service, you become fully vested in the retirement system. Employees may also take advantage of individual and group retirement counseling through the Human Resources department.401K : The County provides a 2% contribution plus an additional 1% match (up to 3% total contribution by the County). Our sworn law enforcement officers receive a flat 5% contribution to their 401k.Other Tax Deferred Programs : Other tax-sheltering programs are available through IRS Code 125 (Cafeteria Plan), and a 457 supplemental retirement plan (Deferred Compensation).Longevity Pay : After 5 years of creditable service, employees receive an annual longevity payment that is paid every year thereafter.
