I am hiring an Editor-In-Chief to manage a local digital publication start-up. An ideal candidate would be community oriented and eager to make a positive name for themselves.
This is an all-commission opportunity perfect for a recent college graduate or someone looking for a work from home opportunity that allows flexibility around family schedules.
Experience in this type of role would be beneficial, but having the personal drive to build something impactful in the community would be sufficient.
Responsibilities:
-Research and Write Reports about News and Events in Catawba County.
-Publish a periodic newsletter of community events and your news reports.
-Sell advertising space and services to local businesses in Catawba County.
Requirements:
-Have a working knowledge of computers, word, excel, email, and wordpress.
-Have a car, a laptop and a cell phone.
-Be a proficient writer.
Preferences:
-Experience with Wordpress and websites.
-Proficiency with either Adobe or Canva
-Experience working in either sales or publishing.
-Experience in Community Service, The Military or some unique “hook” that makes your personal story compelling.
-A college degree in a social science, like English, Communications or Political Science.
