JOB DESCRIPTION: The Compliance Officer position will be responsible for ensuring that the Gaming Operation is regulated in a manner that protects the health and safety of the patrons, employees, and the assets of the Catawba Nation. The Compliance Officer will also be responsible for monitoring the gaming floor which includes certifying gaming devices, software inventory, reviewing and investigating incidents and violations, patron disputes, promotions and marketing, exclusions, sports wagering, environmental public health and safety, and compliance reviews in the Catawba Indian Nation Jurisdiction.
This position is responsible to and subject to the CIN Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with the Gaming Operation and vendors to complete gaming device projects, repairs, and investigations to find legitimate solutions for maintaining a fully operational gaming floor.
- Respond to all jackpot winnings more than $100,000; perform software verification and determine legitimacy of winnings without corrupting the evidence.
· Review, examine, research and interpret technical standards, product manuals, certification letters, Probability Accounting Reports (PAR) sheets, game rules, product notices, revocation alerts, utilize information to evaluate gaming devices in the CIN Jurisdiction for integrity, security and fairness.
· Maintain accurate software inventories ensuring that physical counts mirror database records; identify quantities, locations, program numbers and installations.
· Review marketing promotions for compliance with regulations before final approval.
· Maintain patron exclusion list and assess repeal request completing a report for Commission decision making.
· Complete Facility Licensing process and maintain up to date records throughout the year.
· Review policy and procedures for compliance before final approval.
· Perform investigations into suspected regulatory infractions.
· Create checklist for compliance reviews for different areas of gaming including, Promotions, Sports Wagering, Environmental Public, Health, and Safety, Slot Software Projects, Operation Employee Training, and Financial Reviews.
· Monitor and interact with the Gaming Operation to ensure the gaming floor is operating according to established regulations and department policies and procedures; confirm that all CINGC regulations and requirements are being satisfied.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required and two (2) year of law enforcement experience, or three (3) years of experience directly related to the position, required, or
- Completion of two (2) years of post-secondary education from a college or technical institute, and/or one (1) years of experience directly related to the position, required or
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, criminal history, or closely related fields and one (1) year of office experience
- Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant, and direct experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
· Experience in the gaming technology industry with advanced technical skills is highly preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.
· Current Driver’s License
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid license as required by the Catawba Nation Gaming Commission.
· Satisfactory background checks and drug screening are requirements for employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to possess good manual dexterity and be able to manipulate small parts. The employee will be required to walk long distances, stand for long periods of time, and the employee must be able to squat or kneel frequently. There will be periods of time when the employee will remain sedentary. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
