POSITION: IT Systems Administrator
PAY RANGE: TBD - based on experience.
FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator responsibilities include designing, building, testing, implementing, and optimizing highly available systems infrastructure in accordance with business and application requirements, security policies, and best practices. This role ensures the stability and integrity of the systems infrastructure by providing oversight over as well as the planning, design, and development of multiple projects. Also analyzes and resolves infrastructure hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. Provides associate training where required. The goal is to ensure work and projects are completed promptly and thoroughly.
The ideal candidate will possess solid systems infrastructure experience, strong project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills, plus a superior, service-oriented approach to infrastructure operations. This role will be a significant contributor to developing the regional support framework model.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the vision of the business needs for success now and in the future.
- Sets own goals and holds self and others accountable for achieving goals aligned with current and future business strategy.
- Participates in the assessment of external and internal technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning.
- Keeps current on new technologies and platforms and provides direction on what emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated, and introduced to ensure IT capabilities respond to the needs of the enterprise's business strategy.
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of documentation as it relates to systems configuration, network mapping, systems mapping, processes, PCI compliance and service records. Ensure the creation and maintenance of policies, procedures and associated training plans for network and systems administration, support, usage, and disaster recovery.
- Break/fix support for all production environments. Provide escalation with internal and vendor resources as needed.
- Collaborates with leadership to assess near and long-term network capacity needs and direction.
- Provides second level support for systems problems and trouble tickets. Provides troubleshooting of complex systems problems and issues. This position is in a rotation of being on call for after-hours support.
- Performs daily monitoring and management of the systems infrastructure. Monitors systems performance and troubleshoots problem areas as needed. Monitors and tests the systems performance and provides performance statistics and reports.
- Creates and/or maintains documentation as it relates to systems, processes, and service records.
- May create and/or maintain policies, creates and/or maintains procedures and associated training plans for systems administration and support, optimization, usage, and disaster recovery.
- Keeps leadership and customers informed by preparing reports on system performance and problems. Maintain accurate change management documentation.
- Keeps current on emerging/new technologies through educational opportunities, research, professional affiliations, and personal networking.
- Researches and evaluates tools and technologies for the systems environment while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership.
- Builds relationships with external experts in the field.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Relevant IT experience in a casino gaming environment strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
- ITIL (Foundations / ITSM) certification, a plus
- 5 years of related experience in the implementation, management and maintenance of information technology infrastructure and IT systems including cloud architectures, business systems and server technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure operations management, including the development and implementation of telecommunication systems, networks, and support services.
- Demonstrated experience in working with globally distributed resources, preferably with shared services model.
- Demonstrated ability in leadership, facilitation, collaboration, and negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a highly complex environment, and align to common vision, objectives, and outcomes.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to translate complicated technical concerns to non-technical individuals.
- Knowledge and use of Atlassian products JIRA and Confluence, a plus.
- Experience with Gaming and Gaming related systems such as Marketing solutions, POS, etc.
- Strong working knowledge of IT governance and operations.
- In-depth expertise in software, hardware, and systems engineering.
- Organizational, project and program management planning skills.
- In depth experience with VMware hosts, vCenter Server and VMs including installation and configuration of hosts, configuring virtual networking environments, shared storage configuration and clustering.
- Experience with and knowledge of various storage environment, Fiber SAN, iSCSI SAN
- Understanding of Active Directory administration
- Strong hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
- Demonstrated experience with LAN/WAN technologies in a windows environment.
- Demonstrated experience in design, implementation, administration and support in a windows server and active directory environment.
- Technical documentation skills, produced in a step-by-step manner, regarding every task. Must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays may be required.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must be able to obtain a gaming license.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to move between hot, noisy, and smoky conditions of bar and climate-controlled dining environment.
