Description
Adjunct faculty members provide instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, as needed basis. Courses may be seated, online, or hybrid.
Provide technical instruction in mechanical subjects including blueprint reading, 2D CAD (AutoCAD), 3D CAD (SolidWorks), and 3D printing. Utilize course materials and hands-on training exercises. Operate and maintain training equipment.
Examples of Duties
Provide effective instruction to students online and/or in the classroom by preparing for each learning experience, providing supplemental materials to enhance textbooks and lessons, and using effective evaluation methods to measure student performance.
Ensure teaching and working environment (classroom, lab, shop) by maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards.
Maintain accurate records (such as attendance, grades, documentation for accreditation, etc.) and submit any corresponding reports according to departmental or college guidelines.
Qualifications
Education requirements:
Associates degree in Engineering related program. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
All coursework must be from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience Requirements:
3-5 years in industry with an emphasis in CAD and/or 3D printing
Experience in instruction/training preferred.
Knowledge of:
Principles and procedures of academic and institutional program development in relevant field
Current trends, research, developments, and resources in relevant field
Federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations as they relate to students and teaching
Computer skills such as: 2D CAD software (AutoCAD), 3D CAD software (SolidWorks), 3D printing, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Ability to:
Create effective instruction for delivery both online and in the classroom
Communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
Work effectively in diverse teams, both within assigned department and cross-functionally across the college
Interact well with adult learners, high school students, and local industry representatives.
utilize different methods and mediums in delivering course material for classroom and hands-on laboratory training.
Interpret and apply college goals, policies, and procedures
Maintain any relevant equipment and supplies related to instruction

Copies of all unofficial degree transcripts, including coursework completed and degree conferred, must be provided during the on-line application process. Official transcripts are required to be forwarded to the CVCC Personnel Office upon hire.
