JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Performance Expectations:
Responsible for analysis of inpatient and outpatient electronic medical records to ensure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules and Regulations as well as state, federal and accrediting requirements. Responsible for deficiency monitoring and provider suspension/reinstatement. Assists providers with record completion.
Required
Education & Credentials:
Associate degree in Health Information Technology with Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification.
Preferred
None
Work Experience:
Required
One year of experience in a healthcare setting with exposure to Health Information Management (HIM) concepts. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
Preferred
One or more years of analysis experience in an HIM department.
